Jendela Tauhid

This treatise, taken from the Letters in the Risale-i Nur Collection, is one of the most profound explorations of faith in Allah through observation of the universe. It is known as the “Thirty-Three Windows” because it presents thirty-three distinct perspectives—each one like a window—through which the reality of Divine existence, unity, and attributes can be witnessed. These windows are aligned with the thirty-three glorifications traditionally recited after the daily prayers in Islam.

The treatise begins by describing the Divine will behind the creation of the cosmos. The universe, seen as a grand palace or tree of creation, was brought into being with purpose, order, and wisdom through Divine laws and pre-eternal knowledge. The heavens and the earth, the seen and the unseen, were shaped and adorned with beauty, balance, and function. Within this system, every being, from the stars in the sky to the flowers on the earth, reflects the Divine Names through their design and existence. Even individual needs and calls for help are met with mercy, showing that amidst universal laws are personal, compassionate responses from the Creator.

Each of the thirty-three windows highlights a unique aspect of this Divine reality. These include the order, balance, beauty, abundance, and artistry seen in all parts of creation, each pointing to an All-Powerful, All-Wise, and All-Merciful Creator. Despite the countless beings in the universe, none are confused with another; each is made with precision, and yet with ease and abundance—revealing an unmatched power and knowledge behind all things.

This treatise aims to awaken and strengthen faith. It is said that someone without belief may, through it, find faith; one with weak faith may have it strengthened; one with imitative belief may attain certainty; and one with certainty may gain deeper insight into Divine knowledge. No single window alone can suffice—each part speaks to a different faculty of the human being: the mind, the heart, the soul, and even the imagination.

Unlike other parts of the Risale-i Nur, this treatise directly addresses the denier, while the believer listens and benefits alongside. Though written quickly and left in draft form, its message shines with clarity and conviction. The author humbly asks his brothers in faith to overlook any stylistic shortcomings and to offer their corrections and prayers.
